Microsoft November Updates

On November 12^th, 2024, Microsoft announced some upcoming major changes to pricing for customers of its cloud-based subscription licenses. These changes will be released in two waves, the first of which will be December 1^st, 2024, and the second on April 1^st, 2025.

In this announcement Microsoft is introducing a monthly billing option for customers that are looking to spread out billing for Copilot licenses: Copilot Changes: Monthly Billing for Annual Subscriptions

With the changes to Copilot billing, Microsoft will be changing annual term billing for several other cloud-based licenses, including Microsoft 365 and Office 365 licenses, to standardize billing across their multiple products. This is important to note as it may increase costs 5% annually: Billing Structure Standardization and Pricing Update

Microsoft is also preparing to implement the first price increases for two standalone products, Power BI and Microsoft Teams Phone: Power BI Price Update, Teams Phone Price Update
