Movin’ and Groovin’ – Let’s Talk Google Migrations!

Movin’ and Groovin’ – Let’s Talk Google Migrations!

Technology migrations can be tricky to navigate and execute. There are so many moving pieces to a migration, and you want to ensure that you are maintaining the integrity of your data throughout. It is important to have a seamless migration performed by experienced professionals so that your business can continue to run efficiently. At Spyglass, we have over 15 years of experience and can leverage our proven migration accelerators to help you with your migration needs!

We have a proprietary G Suite migration accelerator to help you with your Google to Office 365 migrations. Our competitive differentiator is that we bring the knowledge of our proven accelerator to the project with us as a tool in our toolbox.  We keep your migration costs down as we do not charge clients for the migration software, just for the work to execute the project.  You will never have to do this work again once the migration is complete, so why buy a tool and try to do it yourself? In addition, knowing that every environment is different, as we come across unique issues, we can easily modify the code to resolve whatever we find.

The first phase of our migration approach is an inventory and assessment phase.  During the assessment, topics will come up that will need further discussion before we can put together a concrete estimate to complete the implementation of, and migration to, Office 365. However, we should be able to at least refine any prior ballpark estimate that had been provided to you at this point. From that phase, we will work with you to build out a targeted approach to the specific migration and prioritizations that are needed for your business.

Often times clients want to dive right into the migration without an assessment and inventory phase, but in our experience, this saves time and money on the overall engagement. There is simple math to figure migration times and tasks but as discussed above, every client environment is different. We want you to be able to make a commitment to your business that you can deliver against- on time and on budget! To help, we offer up to a 50% services credit for the price of the assessment as we move forward with the actual migration project.

We have the proven experience and success that it takes to perform large, complex migrations. At a massive grocery chain, we migrated an internal intranet from Google Sites to SharePoint Online. In general, Google Drives and collaboration Sites come over cleanly, depending on what version of Google you are using, and what customizations/extensions have been made, etc., but for the corporate intranet sites, it is better to rebuild the new site in SharePoint Online and then migrate the content to the new target system.

We also have experience leveraging our migration accelerator to migrate from Gmail to Exchange Online. As a Microsoft FastTrack Ready Partner, Spyglass can also help in many other ways to assist with your migrations. Through Microsoft, we can leverage the FastTrack Migration Center and their new massively scalable tool. We piloted that tool in early 2020 to help a large higher education university move 140k student and alumni mailboxes from Gmail to Exchange Online. At one point during this process, we got up to 25k mailboxes a week migrated. No matter how large or small your migration may be, we can help your business migrate to a platform that will be more efficient for you and allows you to take steps to maximize your investment in that platform.

We have the experience and the tools to help you successfully migrate from Google to Office 365. We also have other proven migration accelerators (Slack to Teams, IBM Connections to SharePoint, and Notes to Office 365 name a few) to help you with any migration needs you may face.
